ULTRA BLUE is Utada Hikaru's sixth album, and her fourth original Japanese album. This album is set to coincide with Utada's second nation wide tour of Japan, which start a month after the album's release. Instead of the album having an eponymous song to go with it (like all of Utada's previous albums), a similarly titled song named BLUE appears instead. This is Utada's first album to have a featured artist in a song title, with Yamada Masashi from THE BACK HORN. This Is Love was originally used as a radio single for this release, and was even released at the Japanese iTunes on the 31st of May (two weeks in advance of the album's release).
